Artist Bio: Roni Gilpin is a retired special education teacher, artist and farmer living in Mercer County. This is her 4th year of participating in the Rain Barrel Project.

Artist’s Interpretation: In previous years, I have approached the task of painting the rain barrel by thinking of a scene to paint on the surface of the barrel. This year, my approach was a little different. I attempted to paint the contents of the barrel by imagining it to be a huge goldfish bowl. As with previous barrels, I haven chosen to paint using bright colors over the accuracy of species.
