Barrel Location: Village Branch Library, Lexington
Artists’ Interpretation: Elementary art students are required to lean about Native American Art, Early American Art, West African Art and Art from many different cultures as part of the world community. For our rain barrel project we used many resources to include some of these historical themes. Our school has a large population of students that are from Mexico. In our design we included a Mayan temple, Native American dancers, people in costumes, West African Adrinka Symbols and images that are indicative to our studies.
Bio (Anne Leech): As a visual arts specialist in Fayette County Public Schools, I have the privilege to instruct students in their artistic creations on a daily basis.
